Turn the music up...Turn it up loud, Take a few chances...let it all out, You won't regret it... Looking back from where you've been.... It's not who you knew or what you did, IT'S HOW YOU LIVE!

If you haven't been...
you should really go check out "The Downs Christmas Light Show". Morgan, Mariah, Chayse and I went last night and it was a lot of fun. You turn your stereo to 107.1 and hear the music and watch the lights. It was great! I have a small video of it if I can figure out how to add it.

Checkers!! Who would of thought...
the game could be so complicated??? Geez! Chayse asked me to play a quick game of checkers before bed last night. He assured me that he was getting better and that it would be fun and wouldn't take long at all. I thought..."that's right...won't take long at all because I will just let him win!" HA! Well, the joke was on me. He had learned how to play checkers and there was no way he was letting me "let him win"!

Making Jello
I didn't know it would be such a mess! It was late and Chayse really wanted to make some jello. Since I hadn't spent much time with him all day, I decided to go ahead and let him make some. Of course he loved it but I had to clean up so much spilled liquid jello and then when I wasn't looking he tried to put it in the freezer and spilled it everywhere!
About a year ago he started making eggs. (I know...I know...he needs a shirt on when cooking or eating) He actually would start cooking by himself so we had to keep a close eye on him...especially on Saturday mornings.
Needless to say...our 20 min jello making turned into over an hour! It is those bonding times, though, that I love. (most of the time)
He calls himself "Master Chef" and wants to cook all the time.

Today was Chayse's Thanksgiving Feast at school. These kindergartners had some of the best manners. I was a little surprised!

Amber did such a great job putting it together. When I walked in the tables were already set up with their plates ready to go and they looked so good! They had turkey and dressing, potatos, carrots, cranberries, fruit salad and pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Mrs Steen had the kids take a moment of silence before eating and it was neat to see the kids bow their heads in respect.

It Isn't Even Thanksgiving Yet...

And we put up the Christmas Tree! Chayse loved playing in the boxes as much as decorating the tree. We still have some stuff to add to it but it is pretty much done. I am really excited to be able to go shopping Friday and come home and wrap everything and put it under the tree. Christmas time is so different for me now that I have Chayse.

I love it and I am so looking forward to teaching Chayse the Christmas Story so that he can share it with others and not just hear it. If I could find it in a "song version" he would pick it up in no time. I love hearing him sing the Christmas songs. The other morning he was singing "Away In The Manager" in the shower and it was so sweet and then he added a "bebox" effect to it and then it was quite interesting. haha
Enough about Christmas! Thanksgiving isn't even here yet. I am so thankful for so much. God is good...All the time!!

New Idea For Lunch Time
Today I decided to work out at lunch and actually loved doing that. I'm glad I only work 5 min from there. I think I'll do it more often. Of course it helped that some of the men working out in there were nice to look at. :) I'm guessing they were firemen or worked nights because they were definetly in shape! I will have to pack my gym bag tonight so that it will be ready in the morning or I probably won't get it done.

Starting Chores
Chayse and I have been talking and he believes he is ready to be responsible for doing chores and "getting paid" for them so last night we sat down to make a chart and decide how much he would get paid. Well...his chore list and my chore list are two completely different ideas! ha
Chayse's List:
1) take out the trash
2) be nice to everyone
3) stop smart mouthing
4) play nicely
5) no pointing his play gun at a person
My List:
1) take out trash
2) pick up your toys at night
3) put up your folded lndry
4) clean the toilet
5) make your bed
These are just a few examples...we didn't agree on anything much except for taking out the trash. haha
Then...on another note, as we were walking in the door from the Y he says..."ya wanna know what (can't remember the kids name) says about his brother?" I about fell over when the next thing came out of Chayse's mouth. I will not post the exact words but it was a nasty 3 word phrase! The first word started with an F, 2nd with an A and the 3rd with a D. I assured him that Jesus cries every time that little boy says that and that he should never, ever say that again!! And then this morning...he is in the restroom and hollars at me to see if I wanted to know what Jaxon called some other little boy in his class? I asked what and he said..."butthole" with an A! I just looked at him. This was too much in less than 24 hrs. I told him exactly what an a-hole was and that we never called anyone that! I can't believe some parents talk like they do in front of their kids! I don't want him to grow up and talk like that and it really, really irritates me that he is only in kindergarten and has heard so many of these words! uugghhhhh!!

A Full Fun Filled Weekend

Wow!!
So...today didn't start off so great. Chayse was back talking so much that I had to spank him. First time I have had to do that before sending him to school...really bothered me! Kinda sucks being a single parent sometimes but we will make it!
